... i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near
your slightest look will easily unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose
or if your wish be to close me, i and
my life will shut very beautifully, suddenly,
as when the heart of this flower imagines
the snow carefully everywhere descending;
nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals
the power of your intense fragility: whose texture
compels me with the color of its countries,
rendering death and forever with each breathing
(i do not know what it is about you that closes
and opens; only something in me understands
the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)
nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands
Well, I don't need to tell you how visually stunning this photograph is. I'll do it anyway. The clarity of the shot, the perfect color you gave it, the delicate features and fine detail of the plant, all the leaves leading the view to the naturally highlited center of the flower... A very vivid composition that wonderfully portraits the art of nature! Rarely do I find something here that deserves the label 'perfect'. This one does, and proudly so. of course, and I recommend making it available as a print, this would do extremely well on my living room wall...
beautiful photo.....and i love the description....poems always seemed to really do something for me...and it really adds to the picture...great job..^^ ps..you should make this a print...i don't personally have any money right now but i'm sure it would attract others....the colors can match well with many room decors i think^^......

hey you! as you know this photo was ready long before i was ready to post it. thanks a lot for the encouragement and the wonderful words you've picked to describe my work. i might sign up on deviantart again and maybe even make it available for print even though not many users dropped by to comment on it

war ich nicht viel stärker alleine?
und habe ich dich jemals gebraucht?"
Hey thanks a lot. saddogeyes knows how long it took me to post it. with some pics it just takes time - not so much to come up with them (as this one was ready all along) but to find the right time. it's strange, not sure if you know that feeling - i guess i'm not exactly doing a good job explaining it. and the poem i came up with only just before i posted it. personally i think it really adds up to it but, as it is with poems, there is loads of room for all kinds of analysis.
I'm not sure if the suggestion to offer it as print is one stimulated by saddogeyes or all yours.. but now that there is two of you i actually might. sure i understand if you don't buy it.. but it tells me that it might be worth offering it nevertheless. thanks for your comment, i really appreciate it.

Aww, don't be a sad angel, just give it time. It's like with the sleepers in the movie business. Nobody notices at first but the little audience spreads the words and slowly but steadily it becomes a hit. You'll see... somebody will discover it in somebody else's favorites, comment, add it to his/her own favorites, and the cycle begins anew.
thanx. with this one i really needed to add the watermark. a friend of mine said that I should be careful since people would probably distribute it a bit... i really like the pic so I thought: watermark.. definitely! But thanx a lot.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
